Is your business larger than 50,000 square feet?
Does it have more than 25 visitors a day?
If so, your business must have an Automated External Defibrillator or AED.
Effective January 1, 2010, Oregon businesses that meet these qualifications are required by law to have at least one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and trained personnel on their premises. Read the new law here.

Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, claiming 350,000 lives annually and the Southern Oregon Chapter recognizes the importance of increased access to early defibrillation. We have been working with local companies to implement AED programs since 2000. Starting at just $1,500 for an AED, we can help ensure that your company is ready to respond to a cardiac emergency where people spend most of their waking time - the workplace.
The Red Cross can provide one point of contact for:
- Purchasing an AED unit
- Purchasing AED supplies, accessories, and storage devices
- Acquiring contacts for medical direction
- AED protocol information
- CPR/AED/First Aid training
- Annual reminders & follow up information
- Training and supplies for disaster response
