Armed Forces Emergency Services
"To alleviate hardship and resolve problems caused by separation, dislocation by war, illness, death and non-receipt of various government benefits" is the mandated purpose of the Armed Forces Emergency Services program. During a military deployment, the Red Cross is often the only means of communication between members of the armed forces and their families. The Southern Oregon Chapter provides vital 24 hour communication for military families in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lake counties at 1-888-737-4306.
There are times in the lives of most people when separation from a family member becomes a terrible hardship. When military service, war, conflict, or disaster separates families, families can count on their local Red Cross Chapter to play an important role in bringing them back in touch.
Chartered by Congress, the American Red Cross plays a vital role in supporting our military and their families wherever they go around the globe. Emergency communications, financial assistance, counseling and other support are available to active duty personnel, National Guard and Reservists, retired military members, and their immediate families.
