Volunteer Opportunities
Emergency Services
The Southern Oregon Chapter responds to local emergencies - single-family fires, evacuations due to hazardous material incidents, brush fires, etc. Volunteers are needed to respond as members of a Disaster Action Team. Disaster volunteers also have the opportunity to help with the Chapter's ongoing emergency planning and preparedness efforts.
Community Disaster Education Presenters speak to organizations, schools and other groups about Disaster Preparedness Information & Training. As a presenter you help families prepare for, respond to and recover from a disaster.
“Get to Know Us” coordinators inform Military personnel and their families about the Red Cross’ role in conveying emergency information through our Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) program.
Health and Safety
The American Red Cross promotes development of lifesaving skills. Develop your leadership skills and pass on lifesaving information by training to be a certified Instructor and teach First Aid, CPR classes or other Red Cross classes. For those who do not meet the age requirement or want some experience before becoming an instructor, instructor aides are also needed.
Office Support
Support the American Red Cross by greeting visitors to our office, answering phones, registering students for classes, preparing mailings, doing data entry or helping with special projects and events.
